FONDAZIONI
Fondazioni, was born from the meeting of two conceptual and formal researches that are those realised by the artist Nicolas Denino and the architect Andrea Mannocci. The theme of the circle understood as an archetypal element of a fluid and dynamic geometry is part of the conceptual and aesthetic result of the work of the two subjects.
The idea of these four installations is to unite artistic and architectural expressiveness in a single element, combining the communicative symbolism of art with the material and expressiveness of architecture. In this installation project, in fact, there is no division between the work on display and the built work, but a fusion between the artistic concept and the architectural space. The two territories come together to give a new aesthetic form to both the artistic work and the architecture. A dreamlike journey between the outside and the inside of the cellar in which the artistic works elaborate a reinterpretation of the architectural space by working on the theme of emptiness; a dream with eyes on the walls where the essentiality of the material is combined with the strength of colour.
The title of the four installations 'Foundations' stems from the origin of the ancient Egyptian culture on the study of geometry and the Greek civilisation that founded the place on which to build its cities. "Foundations" as "origin", as the "root of place and conceptual essence. Nicolas Denino's works fit into these geometries with an aesthetic reinterpretation that makes the circles fluid elements, amplifying the three-dimensionality of space. The circles leave their place to migrate into new perspectives and spaces, conquering new "Foundations" and places.
