NOMADE
The title 'Nomad' refers on the one hand to the dynamic and never-same nature of the textile support, and on the other hand to an idea of mobility, portability and transformability. Those in possession of these works can autonomously decide how to present or use them, playing with gravity, with transparencies and also with the perceptual and physical instability of textiles. The 'precariousness' becomes a strong point. The artist suggests possible, but not exhaustive, ways of using or 'staging' them. Through free experimentation, the fabrics alter and reinterpret the physicality, materiality and staticity that canonically characterise plastic surfaces or volumes.
Small and monumental works can be created that are always easy to move. They are light and foldable works, and the practicality of transport enhances their versatile essence. Characteristics that have allowed the artist to measure himself, for the first time, with large formats capable of modulating spatiality within a pre-established environment. These fabrics are born 'nomads'. In Morocco they are used to furnish, to dress, to repair, to protect, to cover, to separate. The artist dwelled on these prerogatives and immediately recognised them as parts of his wandering nature but also of today's society, which is constantly undergoing sudden changes.
